The Shamrock Alveopora is a beautiful beginner alviopora ready for your reef!

Frag size may vary, but should be roughly 3/4".

Shamrock Alveopora Care

The Shamrock Alveopora is an LPS coral with long stalks, with polyps on the end, that come out of a dome-shaped skeleton. Gonis can be relatively difficult for some depending on manganese and molygdanum levels. Typically the Shamrock Alveopora can be maintained with frequent water changes, but you can dose supplements if needed.

What are the lighting requirements for Shamrock Alveopora?

Shamrock Alveopora are a "Low Light" coral. I keep Shamrock Alveopora between 50 and 100 PAR, ideally on 75 PAR.

Low Light0 - 75
Average / Medium Light75 - 125
High Light125 - 250
Very High Light250 - 400
Extreme Light400+

What are the flow requirements for Shamrock Alveopora?

Flow is rather difficult to measure and is more of a described value rather than measured. Shamrock Alveopora need enough flow to to appear as though the stalks are swaying in a gentle breeze. Keep the flow low enough that the Shamrock Alveopora isn't closing nor blown fully in 1 direction.

Where should Shamrock Alveopora be placed in the aquarium?

Based on the lower light and low flow requirements, Shamrock Alveopora are typically placed on the sand bed or lower in the tank.

What are Shamrock Alveopora feeding requirements?

Shamrock Alveopora will eat smaller foods on occasion, especially foods like Goni power, Reef Roids, and Amino Acids. I wouldn't recommend daily feeding, but once or twice a week will improve their success.

What are the Shamrock Alveopora dosing requirements?

Shamrock Alveopora have calcium skeletons, so they do rely on a stable alkalinity and calcium level. Alkalinity levels between 8dKh and 10dKh should all be okay, as long as the calcium level doesn't change more than 0.5dKh in a single day. Standard calcium levels between 350 and 450 ppm is sufficient.

What are the temperature requirements for Shamrock Alveopora?

Gonis prefer average reef tank temperatures between 76 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with 78 degrees being the average.
